Routine maintenance is important if you want your fireplace to keep looking as good as new and function just how it was designed to.

Repairs will ensure the fireplace performs efficiently and safely. Activities such as replacing the batteries of the remote receiver or cleaning the glass have to be done regularly to maximize the service life of your fireplace.

Cleaning the Glass Fireplace Window

If you opt to perform some maintenance task on your own such as cleaning the fireplace window keep in mind that this surface is extremely hot during operation and even hours after you’ve turned it off. When a gas fireplace burns, it produces a mineral which forms a white film on the ceramic glass. This film forms due to the sulphur content of the gas.

When the film builds up, it’s advisable to clean it immediately instead of leaving it for a longer period of time which makes it harder to remove. The fireplace is allowed to cool down before cleaning the off this white film. Cleaning must be done using the right products. Avoid ammonia-based cleaners or an abrasive cleaner on a ceramic gas fireplace window. Abrasion can destroy the glass surface and compromise the performance of the fireplace.

Maintenance Tips for Your Fireplace

Most of our fireplaces come with barrier screens that are very easy to clean. You just need to use a soft brush to remove any dirt or grime that builds up on the surface.

The batteries in your fireplace receiver and remote control need to be replaced at least once annually. This is highly recommended to optimize performance.

Any steel accessories or trims on the fireplace can be cleaned with some mild soap and warm water. Make sure the surface cools before cleaning.

Avoid cleaners with alcohol or solvent bases as they will weaken the coating or damage it completely.

I contacted The Fireplace Store, regarding a problem that I was having with my gas fireplace. Even though I did not purchase my fireplace from them, they were very helpful, and answered all my questions. They also confirmed that I was getting a fair price from the company that installed my unit, and that would be doing the repair. They also suggested, that I ask my installer why the problem occurred in the first place, in an effort to prevent the same problem from happening again. I had them install a new Kingsman VRB46N fireplace in a bedroom couple months ago. They were knowledgeable, responsive and the installer was amazing. It is a beautiful fireplace. A few weeks later an old set of gas logs in a different part of the house from 25 years ago finally stopped working and they are replacing with new ones. They did a thorough job of measuring and found a solution that met my budget. I highly suggest buying from this establishment.

The Fireplace Store was an excellent business to deal with in all aspects of our gas fireplace renewal project. Our existing fireplace/chimney chase needed a lot of remedial work to correct it's shoddy construction by the original builder of our home. Dan spent the better part of a day repairing damage and correcting things before he was able to install our new fireplace. The resulting upcharge was reasonable. The brick layers/masons who installed the stone around the new fireplace were excellent as well. All staff were most careful and respectful of out home and property. Brent is a consummate professional and we would highly recommend him for any gas fireplace repair or service. He responded promptly and arrived on time. He meticulously cleaned up the work space when he was finished his work.We had a fireplace that was looked at a year ago and found out that the logs were not placed in the same position to function properly. Brent replaced all the logs, and cleaned all the soot in between the log chambers. He told us to get new crystals and lava rocks which were missing on the both sides. The fireplace now works perfectly !

Three days ago my wife and I dropped into the showroom and were greeted by Vanessa, an extremely pleasant and knowledgeable representative of the company. She patiently listened and answered all of our queries. We settled on the Amantii Electric Fireplace and were given a date and time the the unit would be delivered and installed.Two gentlemen showed up 15 minutes ahead of schedule and proceeded to prep for the removal of the old unit and install the new one. I was extremely impressed by their care for my wood floors.Once completed they cleaned the area and removed every sign that they had even been there.I highly recommend this company for your fireplace needs. A pleasure to do business with them from beginning to end.

I deliberately selected this company to install a new fireplace system in my home. Initially the young woman was quite helpful but then after receiving a down payment everything fell apart in terms of communication. Multiple voice messages were left until I finally contacted the manager who responded once with an email. Given I was working, I requested communication the following day. I have had no return communication. I finally spoke with the initial young lady and respectfully conveyed my disappointment with the communication with her and the company. Her response was simply 'well we are talking now so lets move things forward'. This is not what I consider good customer service. Had she initially apologized for the missed communication I would have happily restored my faith. The only phone call I rec'd was asking for the remaining payment which I waited to see how long it took for them to reach out to me. I have paid in full but am still waiting for the final customized front plate. I was told it should be ready to install in 3-4 wks. It is now 7 weeks and I still have not rec'd one email explaining about the delay. Perhaps this is a one off experience, a poor saleswoman or my file has been lost. I listen to reviews but make up my own mind. As others should as well. Good luck to future customers.ADDENDUMManagement from the Fireplace store reached out to me with a lovely apology and explanation which was sincerely appreciated.
